The Titans sixth-inning burst enough to top Waverly, 16-3
The Titans took down Waverly 16-3 on Friday at Waverly after slamming Waverly with 10 runs in the sixth inning.
Jake Peterson was hot from the plate for the Titans. Jake Peterson went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Byron Hood's nine strikeouts helped the Titans to the victory. Hood allowed two earned runs, two hits and five walks over 4 2/3 innings.
The Titans stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring one run on an error.
The Titans added two more runs in the top of the second. A ground out scored Terrell Rose for the inning's first run.
The Titans built upon their lead with three runs in the fifth. Payton Kinney's single got things going, scoring Jake Peterson and Hood.
