SNOW DAY: Norris School District will be closed Monday, January 25, 2021, due to a winter weather warning and projections of significant snowfall and accumulation.  This includes before and after-school practices, AM/PM Preschool, before/after school care, and community use of facilities.

Norris Titans Varsity Nabs Win Over Bennington Despite Early 3-Run Inning

Even though Norris Titans Varsity gave up three runs in the second inning, they still defeated Bennington 9-3 on Saturday. The big inning for Bennington came thanks to by Hailee Peterson and a double by Madalyn Elwood.

Bennington fired up the offense in the second inning, when a sacrifice bunt by Peterson scored one run for Bennington.

Norris Titans Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Matthea Boon singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs and Delaney White's sac fly scored one run for Norris Titans Varsity.

Norris Titans Varsity tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Bailee Zavala, Alexis Wiggins, and Maddy Collier each had RBIs in the big inning.

Wiggins took the win for Norris Titans Varsity. She surrendered three runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out nine.

Daisy Lowther took the loss for Bennington. She surrendered nine runs on ten hits over six innings, striking out two.

Norris Titans Varsity socked one home run on the day. Taylor McMurray had a dinger in the second inning.

Norris Titans Varsity totaled ten hits. Boon and Collier all managed multiple hits for Norris Titans Varsity. Collier and Boon all had two hits to lead Norris Titans Varsity.

Bennington scattered seven hits in the game. Maddie Scobee and Lowther each managed multiple hits for Bennington. Bennington didn't commit a single error in the field. Taylor Sedlacek had the most chances in the field with five.
