Norris Cages The Bears 9-1

The Norris softballers  travelled to Blair on Tuesday, September 3rd for their first conference game and left town with a 9-1 victory over the Blair Bears.  The visitors scored 3 runs in the 1st inning on RBI's from winning pitcher Carli Kohout, Olivia Ozenbaugh, and Alexis Wiggins.  Neither team crossed home again until the 4th frame when Norris' Jerica German put the game out of reach with a grand slam home run. With the score 8-0, Blair got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 4th, but NHS added the necessary run in the next inning to reclaim the 8 run advantage at 9-1.  Kohout retired the Bears in order in their last at bat to end the contest via the runs ahead rule.  Wiggins paced the 12 hit Norris attack with a 3 for 3 effort, while Molly VanderHamm and Delaney White registered 2 hits apiece.
