Titans come up short in 10-14 loss to Nebraska City
The Titans JV football squad came up just short in a hard fought battle vs. Nebraska City on Monday night, losing 14-10. The game went back and forth throughout the night, but in the end turnovers and penalties were too much for the Titans to overcome.
Norris started the scoring with a 42 yard field goal in the first quarter, followed by a short TD run to take a 10-0 lead. Nebraska City answered back in the second quarter with a TD of their own to cut the Titan lead to 10-7 at the half. A quick turnover by Norris in the 3rd quarter allowed Nebraska City to capitalize with a passing TD to take a 14-10 lead. The game came down to the wire with the Titans making a key 4th down stop with just over 7 minutes remaining in the game. Norris then went on a drive of over 5 minutes, but came up just short on a 4th down, turning the ball over on downs allowing Nebraska City to run out the clock.
The loss brings the Titans record to 2-2 on the season. The JV squad will be back in action next Monday at home at 630 pm.
