8th Grade Titans Tame Badgers

The Norris 8th Grade Football Team picked up its 3rd consecutive victory of the season, beating Bennington 44-8. The Titans had a productive day on the ground and in the air against the Badger defense. The Titan Defense also had a great afternoon as well, forcing 3 turnovers.

The Titans scored on their first play of scrimmage (a Blake Macklin 20 yard run) after the Titan defense forced a blocked punt. The Titan run game was on display all afternoon, as Macklin, Kier, and Holt all had solid games on the ground. Logan Michel gave great minutes at Tight End, and Sam Talero marched the offense down the field, scoring on 3 occasions in the first half. The Badgers did have some life, scoring on the final play of the first half on a screen pass. The Titans led, 20-8 at the break.

In the second half, the Titans didn't waste time in responding to the Badger TD, as Macklin returned the ensuing kickoff for 96 yards, a Norris Middle School record. The Titan defense followed that up with a turnover on downs, and the Titan run machine continued to churn through the second half, scoring multiple times. At the start of the 4th Quarter, Sam Talero connected with Everett Clang on a 43 yard pass for a TD, Eli Holt and Logan Michel combined for the two-point conversion on a pass from Talero, putting the final score at 44-8.

The next action for the Titans will be a trip to Blair, on Sept. 23rd.
