TITAN SOFTBALL TEAM WINS TRIANGULAR WITH MILFORD AND GROSS

On Saturday, September 1st the Norris Titans visited host Milford for their triangular with the Milford Eagles and the Omaha Gross Cougars.  The Titans used the long ball in both contests to post wins over their 2 foes.  In game 1 against the Eagles of Milford,  NHS found themselves in a tight game and overcame a 3-2 deficit in the top of the 6th inning when they loaded the bases with nobody out.  Sophomore Maddie Gloe was called on to pinch hit and launched the 1st pitch she saw over the left field fence for a grand slam giving the Titans a 6-3 lead.  Milford managed another tally in their last at bat to give Norris the 6-4 victory. In their second game of the day, Norris matched up with the Lady Cougars of Omaha Gross.  Again the Titan offense relied on the home run ball in posting a 12-5 victory.  Senior Brittany Funk had 2 home runs, 1 in the 3rd inning and 1 in the 7th to go along with a triple in pacing the offense.  She finished the game with a 3 for 5 plate performance, including 3 runs and 6 rbi.  Joining Funk with a home run was Michaela Woodward, whose towering blast in the first inning  was estimated at 270 feet and gave Norris an early 2-0 lead. NHS banged out 15 hits in the win.  Norris is now 10-0 for the season. Offensive stats vs Gross:
