The Norris Titans Softball Team opened their 2012 Eastern Midlands Conference schedule at Gretna on Thursday, August 23rd.  The Dragons opened the contest by jumping on the Norris defense for 5 runs in the first inning.  Titan pitcher Michaela Woodward then held the Gretna offense down the rest of the way while the Norris hitters saved their best for the end of the game.  Jenna Gruber's 6th inning bases loaded triple cut the Gretna lead to 5-3 going into the last frame.  In the Titans last chance in the 7th, Janelle Adams, Dani Meierhenry,  and Hannah Evans loaded the bases with 3 consecutive singles.  Makenna Tracy's 2 rbi single  through the middle plated 2 Titans to knot the contest at 5-5. Then back to back sacrifice flies off the bats of Janelle Mitchell and Brittany Funk provided the final 7-5 victory.
