The Titans get on top of Gretnaearly but can't hang on in 6-2 loss
The Titans built an early edge on Monday, but Gretna roared back to steal a 6-2 victory at Hickman.
Gretna took the lead in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Derr.
It was a good day at the plate for the Titans' Trey Hair. Hair went 3-4 and scored two runs. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
Preston Price looked sharp on the mound. Gretna managed just two hits off of Price, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out six during his four innings of work.
Samuelson recorded the win for Gretna. He pitched three shutout innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.
The Titans jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Hair kicked things off for the Titans with a single. An error then moved Hair from first to second.Jakson Reetz singled, scoring Hair.
Gretna stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the eighth, scoring four runs on two doubles.
