8th Football Team Floats to the Top Amid Torrential Rain
The Norris 8th grade Titan football team took on Elkhorn Middle School last Tuesday in what had to have been one of the wettest games of their lives. As rain threatened to end the contest before it began, the Titans braved the storm and played just over three quarters of football before the game was called on account of lightning. The score at the time was 6-0 in Norris's favor, a result of a 60 yard touchdown run by Drew Reetz. The wet conditions made ball-handling very difficult, with multiple turnovers pitting the two teams against eachother in more of a defensive tug-of-war. In the end, however, the Titans felt very good about their progress and showing against a team that had handily defeated them only a year previous. The 8th grade team will return to the home field this Tuesday, as they take on their next opponent, Nebraska City.
