The Titans jump on Columbus early and coast to 9-0 win

The Titans shut the door early on Columbus, capturing a 9-0 victory on Thursday at Pawnee Park.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Titans to put the game away early.

An error, an RBI single by Byron Hood, and a fielder's choice during the first inning and a groundout by John Estudillo in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Titans.

Jakson Reetz had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.

The Discovers couldn't get anything going as long as Hood was on the mound. They managed just one hit off of Hood, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out eight during his five innings of work.

The Titans were sparked by Trey Hair and Reetz, who teamed up for nine hits and three RBIs.

The Titans matched their two-run third inning with two more in the seventh. In the third, the Titans scored on a two-run single by Terrell Rose, platingBryce Peterson and Jake Peterson.
