Titans Dominate Bluejays in Season Opener
On Saturday, March 18th, the Norris Boys Soccer team kicked off their 2017 campaign at Seward. The Titans scored 2 goals with less than a minute coming off of the clock and did not look back. With a 2-0 advantage, the Titans controlled most of the first half. A Seward penalty kick goal halfway through the first half made things interesting, but the Titans persevered and added four more goals to take a 6-1 lead into halftime. In the second half, it was much of the same. The Titans added 3 more goals to bring the final score to 9-1.
Keegan Johnson (Sophomore) led the way for the Titans with 4 goals and 2 assists. Avery Yendra (Senior) had 4 assists in the contest. Jack Lee (Junior) picked up a hat trick, Fankhauser (Sophomore) and Ben Hohensee (Junior) each added a goal. Dominic Pelini (Junior) was solid in goal and the Titan defense was led by Yendra and Harrison Boe (Sophomore).
The JV Soccer team picked up a 1-0 win after defeating Seward in a penalty shootout.
Next game for the Titans is Monday, March 20th at home against EMC rival Gretna. JV at 5, Varsity at 7
