Introduction to Composition (DC)

Introduction to Composition (DC)

This is a semester-long course for juniors or seniors who meet the prerequisites. It is offered as dual credit through Wesleyan's Honors Academy; however, students are not required to take for dual credit and only receive college credit if they pay the fee and earn a grade of C or better.

This course is designed to help students write with clarity, confidence, and conviction through regular practice in writing (including argument and exposition, writing as discovery, and personal exploration). Particular attention will be given to the role of revision in the writing process. This course also includes a study of language and its social roles, with special attention to the origin, development, and current nature of the English language. This class is equivalent to Eng 1010 at NWU and SCC, and Eng 150 or an Ace #1 at UNL.
Students are able to earn 3 hours of dual credit through NWU.
**Students must purchase books and materials for this course.

For more information about course progression for juniors and seniors, see this Course Descriptions Presentation.
