Calculus

Calculus

Calculus is the study of changing quantities.  Two main themes are differentiation, which studies rates of change and integration, which deals with areas and volumes of shapes.  Concepts and conceptual understanding are emphasized through explorations with calculators.  Each topic, whenever possible, is approached graphically, numerically, and algebraically.  Students will be required to purchase a graphing calculator.  Students taking the course for dual credit will be required to purchase the textbook.  Students who receive a grade of C or better at the University of Nebraska in Calculus 107 will receive credit for the course at no cost, but the course can be taken for 5 hours of dual credit issued through Southeast Community College.
