NORRIS MIDDLE SCHOOL BULLETIN - March 11th, 2014


Come out to the 8-12 Instrumental Music Concert - Auditorium 7:00 p.m..


Attention 8th Grade Girls!  Is Bullying a problem for you and your friends?  We are teaming up with the Girl Scouts to offer classes that focus on leadership, self-confidence, being a better friend, and having better friends.  You’ll learn about bullying, what to do if you get bullied or witness bullying either at school or online.  Interested?  Classes will be held during LITT for 6 weeks on Tuesdays, starting Tuesday, March 18th.  Sign-up in the office before next Friday, March 14th.  See Mrs. Rupert with questions.


The 7th & 8th Grade TALENT SHOW is set for Monday, March 17th in the HS Auditorium.  The Line-Up is posted on the Commons Bulletin Board - Check It Out!


Last Saturday our MS Wrestlers placed as follows:

Clayton Williams  2nd place, Colby Anderson 2nd place, Carter Burenheide 4th place, Matthew Harvey 1st place, Tyler Pester 2nd place, Brandon Garza 3rd place.


ATTENTION 8th GRADERS:  All who will be trying out for the 2014-2015  NHS Cheer Squad.  Please meet in the MS commons right after school this Wednesday, March 12th for an informational meeting about cheer tryouts.  This meeting should last no longer than 30 minutes.  Make an arrangement ahead of time for transportation.  Thank you!

Please note … 6th Grade Math Club on Wednesdays and 6th Grade Quiz Bowl on Thursdays.  This is different than what the newsletter stated.  Also, make sure you have transportation arrangements made ahead of time!


Doodle 4 Google contest is open with entries due March 20th.  This years theme is “IF I COULD INVENT ONE THING TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE…”.  Check out the google website for rules and information https://www.google.com/doodle4google/

Carnival Volunteers Needed!  The Carnival is Friday, April 4th and the PTO is needing your help.  They need volunteers to help run the games and concessions.  If you are interested pick up more information in the MS Office Brochure Holder.


Auditions for the High School Fall Colorguard will be March 24-26th.  There will be a two day clinic to learn the routine and try-outs will occur before and after school on March 26th.  Information about expectations for Fall Guard will be available from Mrs. Andre, in the Library.

2014 Norris Football Camp for Grades 6 & 7 (next year’s 7th and 8th graders).  Camp dates are May 7, 8 & 9th at 3:45 - 5:45 located on the Norris High School Football Practice Fields.  Pick up a registration in the MS Office Brochure Holder.


STAY STRONG … If you have been bullied or witnessed another student being bullied, immediately report this to a staff member, Mrs. Rupert or Mr. Rice.  Thank you for helping to make Norris Middle School a safe and welcoming community.


2014 Cortland Ball Sign Up Registration Forms are in the MS Office.

Registrations are due Sunday, March 16th.


Pick up you LINCOLN KIDS Spring quarterly Family Newspaper.  It’s packed full of activities, Camp Issue, Artwork and great articles.


Bright Lights Classes/Camps are Posted Online for Summer 2014.

Registration begins April 1st at noon.
