Middle School Bulletin

Wednesday, Dec. 5th

6th Grade Band Students - you will report to your LITT today. No Band. We will have a Terrific Titan assembly.

Being kind to others encourages kindness!  Let’s get in the holiday spirit by focusing on a kind act each day between now and winter break.  A kindness act will be shared each day, challenge yourself to complete that act! THANK YOU to Autumn Weaver for posting our Kindness Challenges throughout our building each day.

Holiday Kindness Challenge for Wednesday, Dec. 5:

Give a friend or loved one your full attention!

Holiday Grab Bag needs your help. We are looking for new or gently used toys, trinkets, electronics, novelties, clothing, or anything that we could wrap up and sell to our student population!

During the last week of Quarter 2 (December 17th through 21st), we will sell our grab bag items from the concession stand in the commons area for $2 and $1.

In addition to items to wrap, we are always accepting wrapping paper as well--so if you’ve got just a small amount left on a roll, consider bringing it in to help the holiday grab bag!

All proceeds will go to the Teammates and Backpack programs here at Norris School District.

Donations should be brought to Harley McCain in the Middle School, Room 306. Preferably by December 11th, but anytime is fine!

Any questions, email: harley.mccain@nsdtitans.org

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

In keeping with our pledge to #bekind, Norris Middle School will be holding a sheet drive to benefit the Lincoln City Mission. As the weather turns colder, clients are in need of bedding. We encourage students to bring sheets, blankets, and towels. We will accept all clean bedding, used and new. Donations can be made in the commons by placing your gift into the appropriate box for your grade. The drive will begin December 3rd and conclude on December 17. If you have anything you are willing to donate bring it to school. The middle school grade with the most donations will celebrate with an open gym during LITT.

Science Quiz Bowl next meeting will be Thursday, 12/6, 3:40- 5:00.  Come in and get packets to study!

Coding Club will meet Thursday during LITT

LOST ‘N FOUND is overflowing - pick up the jacket or lunch box that belongs to you and take it home please.

In an effort to prevent book loss, all OVERDUE books must be turned in before winter break.  You may have two books checked out throughout break but they must be renewed or current checkouts.  Your English and Reading teachers have the list of overdues, as do Mrs. Monson and Mrs. Andre

Did you miss the travel meeting but are still interested? Open enrollment has begun. Please email Mrs. Free at mary.free@nsdtitans.orgas soon as possible for information.

Friday, December 7th after school

Students, there is a kindness bulletin board in the commons called, "Catch Em Being Kind." When you see a classmate or staff member doing something kind, there is a "kindness baseball" to fill out and then staple to the bulletin board. Let's keep the middle school kind!

If you have been bullied, or witness another student being bullied, report this immediately to Mrs. Leininger, Mr. Rice, Mr. Bade or one of your teachers. #BeKind.

Activity Passes are available to purchase: $30 (if not playing a sport at Norris)
