Baseball t-shirts & sweatshirts order forms are in the office.  All forms and money are due by Thursday,

February 28th!


The Spanish Club will be selling Carnations for Valentine’s Day.  If you would like to purchase a carnation, lip

sucker and card for your Valentine for $5 please see a Spanish Club Member.  Carnations will be delivered on

Feb. 14th.  


If you are planning to participate in a spring sport – please sign up on the respective sign-up sheets. 

If you have not been out for a sport in the fall and winter, you are reminded that you will need a physical,

insurance verification, concussion form, NSAA parent consent form and $50 prior to practicing on Monday,

February 25.

Senior Art:  Juniors interested in taking Senior Art next year need to see Mr. Carlson or download an

application from his website.  Applications are due Thursday, Feb 14th.


Yearbook Info:

~Group Picture Day is next Wednesday, March 13th

~Deadline to order 2013 Yearbook is March 1st.  Cost $75; With name-$80

~Yearbook staff applications for next year are due to Mrs. Coady by Friday, February 15th.



College of Engineering at KSU is having an Engineering Open House on Friday, April 19th and Saturday, April 20th.  Activities are planned both days to introduce students to the program, facilities, and student experiences including mechatronic robotics, a canned food skyscraper, weed eater bicycle races, and nuclear reactor tours.  Check it out at www.engg.ksu.edu/steelring/ or stop in the CC for more details. 


Want to pursue a career in the Medical Field?   Attend the Pre-Health Scholars Reception at UNMC (University of Nebraska Medical Center) in Omaha on Tuesday, Feb 19th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  For registration information, visit admissions.unl.edu/pre-health.


 Guard for a Day -- the Nebraska Army National Guard is sponsoring it's annual student event on Wednesday, February 27 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  Interested juniors and seniors who want to learn more about what the Guard has to offer are encouraged to attend.  The sign up sheet is in the Career Center.  A parent permission form is required.  Students on the RTI list or who went last year will NOT be allowed to attend.


Attention Juniors:  Considering a career in law enforcement? Apply to join the Junior Law Cadet Program.  You will stay in Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy in Grand Island in June for four days and learn the latest on law enforcement technology, including fingerprinting, K-9 handling, accident and criminal investigation. You will even get to drive a State Patrol car!  See the brochure in the CC or talk to Mrs. Moser.  Applications due March 1st.


UNL college rep is coming Tuesday the 12th.  Interested Juniors and Seniors...sign up in the senior hallway bulletin board. 


Sophomores... looking to expand your leadership qualities and connect with other high school students across the state?  You could be selected to represent Norris at the HOBY leadership seminar June 6-9th at Doane College.  If interested, submit an essay to Mrs. Moser via email or "share" a google document answering this prompt:  “Tell about a time you stood up for what you believed in and the impact that had on yourself and others around you.”  Students will be selected based on their essay, as well as leadership qualities (or emerging qualities) portrayed by the student. Essays are DUE Thursday, February 14th.
