TODAY’S ACTIVITIES:

Prom Photography Committee meeting in W4 during IAP

Swim Team:  You are reminded to bring your parkas to the swim banquet on Sunday.

Baseball t-shirt orders and money are due Friday.

Thursday is a regular school day. You are expected to attend unless excused by your parents (see guidelines below):

The Girls Basketball Team plays in the State Tournament beginning at 10:45 am in the Pinnacle Arena.

If you plan to attend the game and provide positive Spirit--you must not be on the 'Fail' list and must be excused by your parents through the high school office.  Your name will be placed on a list and we will see you at Pinnacle Bank. (Same procedure we used for State VB).  If you are on the 'Fail' list, we will not excuse you for the game. The result of leaving and being on the 'Fail' list will result in an unexcused absence (even if parents excuse). Students on the 'Fail' list will not be welcome in the student section at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

STUDENTS – USE YOUR TIME WISELY!

The last day of third quarter is Thursday, March 6, 2014 and Friday, March 7, 2014 is scheduled as a teacher workday. However, we are creating the opportunity for select students to come in and work that day as well.

All students who are failing one or more classes - as listed on Powerschool - will be required to come to school on Friday, March 7, 2014. Students will need to report to the High School Library by 9:00am. The ability to check grades on PowerSchool is available at anytime online at http://www.norris160.org/resources/powerschool.

During this work day, students will have the opportunity to access teachers and complete work needed to help progress toward a passing grade. Students will be required to work until 3:00pm but may be excused earlier by administration due to completion of materials required by the teacher.

Any student who is failing a course for 3rd quarter will not be excused from this opportunity. Failure to report would result in failing the identified course(s) for the quarter and loss of select privileges (for example: carrying personal electronic devices, IAP pass privileges, lunch freedom of movement, attendance at Norris activities - including Prom, etc.) as deemed necessary by administration.

Students who are in danger of failing: use this weekend and final days of the quarter wisely, so you can finish this grading period on a positive note!   Please contact Mr. Ruhl or Mr. Hutzler with any questions.

2014-15 Cheer Try-outs:  Cheer tryouts for all upcoming 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders will be on March 20th with pre-tryout practices starting before and after school on March 13th. If you are planning on trying out, information packets will be available in the high school office.   Packets will include all dates and times of optional practices as well as a parent consent form which must be signed and returned prior to participating in any practices.
