Changes to campus security have taken place. As you enter each of the buildings on campus, you will need to “ring the bell” to open the doors to be let into the building. We are all adjusting to the changes and appreciate your patience while we get all of the doors adjusted. Understand that security of our campus and students is vital and the reason we are implementing the changes.

Once you have entered the building, we need you to check into the office and get a name tag so we are aware of people in the building. If a parent or other family member woould like to come and eat lunch with your child, check into the office and then wait inthe office until your child’s class goes to lunch.

 

As we are starting to experience cooler weather, please make sure to send coats and  warmer clothes with your child. Even though it may get warmer later in the day, the morning recess can be cooler making it necessary for students to have coats.  Layers work well to deal with the cooler mornings and warmer afternoons.  Hats and gloves are encouraged for the cooler temperatures.  The students go outside everyday for recess unless it is raining or the temperature and/or wind chill is below 0.

 

Want to help Norris students?  It’s easy.  Our school can receive up to $10,000 in Target GiftCards for books or any supplies we need.  Wouldn’t that be great?  All we need to do is vote for our school each week until September 21.  It’s part of Give With Target.  Upon receiving 25 votes, Target will send a $25 gift card to our school and add $1.00 for each additional vote up to $10,000.  Find out more and vote at Facebook.com/Target.

 

Health screenings are currently taking place.  As a reminder, if your child has been to the dentist within the last year make sure to send a note from the dentist to the Nurse’s office.  If we have documentation of a dental visit then your child does not need to be a part of the dental screening which is one of the health checks that will be conducted.

 

PTO is now selling the new  POGO cards.  The Downtown Lincoln Business Card expires 12/31/2014.  The Lincoln POGO card expires 6/30/2015.  Both cards are included in a red zipper pouch for $25.  You may view the businesses included on both cards at www.pogocard.com.  If you would like to purchase a card, please include your check for $25 made out to Norris PTO  or cash and put it in an envelope marked POGO with your child's first and last name and teacher's name.  You may turn these envelopes to the office and we will send home a POGO pouch containing these cards with your child.  Cards will also be available for purchase at Parent­Teacher conferences next week.
