HAL Students Grades 5-8: Do enjoy history and have a passion for learning? If so, you may be interested in the National History Bee. This is an individual academic competition for students across America. School winners advance to regional competitions and regional champions earn a chance to compete in Washington, D.C. For scholarships, prizes, and the title of National History Bee Champion. See Mrs. Burbach by the end of this week if you are interested. (Room 306)

STAFF AND STUDENTS: Please nominate a staff member for the Super Staff award by Monday, Nov. 26th. You can pick up a nomination form in Mrs. Brown's room.

Monday our 7th & 8th grade Boys Basketball Teams will be taking on Elkhorn Ridge. Our 8th grade team plays here at home with tip off at 4:15 p.m. And the 7th grade team will be traveling to Elkhorn Ridge and need to be dismissed at 2:00. GO TITANS!!!

Norris High School Show Choirs are hosting a Show Choir Clinic Tuesday, December 18th. This clinic is for those grades 1 through 7. The clinic is immediately after school through 6:15 in the High School. Cost is $25 which includes Instruction of song and choreography, t-shirt, snack and participants entrance into basketball games that evening for you will perform at half time of girls varsity game. Get your registration (5th grade went home in Thursday Folders) and note they are due back by Wednesday, Nov. 28th with payment.


Tuesday, Nov. 20th – All Brass and Woodwinds

Mark these changes in your planner and be sure to bring your instrument on the correct day. Our concert is only 3 weeks away on Dec. 6th at 7:00 in the HS Auditorium. Monday the 26th will be flutes, and low brass (regular schedule).

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOOK FAIR begins Monday, Nov. 26 – 30th. In conjunction to the book fair there will be a coin war competition. Money earned supports Scholastic Book Company charitable book donations across the globe and buys free books for our school library. This year the LITT group that brings in the most $$$ will win their teacher $100 of free books from the scholastic book fair. Second place will win $50 of free books from the book fair. RULES: On Monday, November 26th students should bring in as many PENNIES as they can. All change will be turned into the LITT teachers. Count your change each day and record your total on the Google Spreadsheet that will be shared with you. Mrs. Andre will bring you envelopes to put your money in and will collect them at the end of the day. On Tuesday, bring NICKELS, Wednesday is DIMES and Thursday is QUARTERS with Friday the day for anything. Winning groups will be announced by noon so that the winning Teachers may select their books. There will also be treats for the top two LITT fund raiser groups.

IMPACT – Youth Baseball Clinic ages 8-14. When: Sunday's, Nov. 25th, Dec. 9, 16,23, 30 and Jan. 6th. Cost $84.40 per player – limited space so get your registration now and sign up. Registration forms are in the MS Office brochure holder.

Norris High School Cheerleaders are hosting a Cheer Clinic for any student grade K through 7 Friday, January 11, 2013. Cost is $20 and the students will performance at the half time of the girls varsity game that night about 6:30 p.m. The registration form will go home in the 5th grade Thursday folders but any 6th & 7th grader that would like to register pick up a form in the MS Office. Forms are due back with payment on Tuesday, December 18th. Go Norris!!

The FREE – LINCOLN KIDS – Winter 2012 Family Newspaper is here and available in the MS Office. It's full of fun articles, and Family Fun Activities, in the Lincoln Area. CHECK IT OUT!

STAY STRONG …If you have been bullied or witnessed another student being bullied, immediately report this to a staff member, Mrs. Rupert or Mrs. Tracy. Thank you for helping to make Norris Middle School a safe and welcoming community.

State Class B Championship Football Tickets for the Norris vs. Omaha Gross showdown at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, November 20 (7:15 pm Kickoff) are now on sale through the high school office. Ticket prices are: $7 for adults and $5 for students. You do not need to purchase an advance ticket as there will be plenty of ticket windows open at the stadium.

Norris is the visiting team and fans will sit on the West side of memorial Stadium in Sections – enter through Gates 3 or 10 (Gate 3 is handicap accessible). Norris Marching Band will sit in Section 24. Norris High School Students will sit in the lower part of Section 25 with Norris Middle School Students witting behind the high school students. Norris Elementary Students will sit with their parents, Norris Fans will sit in Sections 26, 27, 28 (see stadium seating map if questions). No one will be allowed to stand between the stadium and the fence along the field. North and South stadiums are closed to spectators. Handicapped seating will be available in the Southeast corner of the stadium. ALL STUDENTS AND SPECTATORS are to STAY OFF OF THE PLAYING FIELD at the conclusion of the Championship Game. All Norris fans are expected to exhibit sportsmanlike behavior during the game.
