Classroom Information

                What you can expect from this class:

  1. Tests - 50-110 points.  No notes or notochords.  Tests are scheduled every 2-3 weeks after each chapter is completed.
  2. Review Sheet - 10 extra credit points.  Usually handed out the day before the test.  Students are to work on and complete by themselves.   They may use books and notes to complete.  It must be turned in at the beginning of the period the day of the test.  All questions must be answered for students to get the bonus points.
  3. Weekly Quizzes - 25-50 points.  Includes material covered up to that point.
  4. Daily Quizzes - 1-20 points.  May not see them every day or even every week.  Use when students need to remain updated.  May be unannounced.
  5. Lab Reports - 85-100 points.  At the end of each lab you will be required to write up a lab report.  Each person must write up their own lab report (this is not a group activity!) You cannot copy someone else's lab report.
  6. Project - You may be required to do a project once each semester.  The project may be an individual or group project and will be graded by the difficulty of the project.
  7. Semester Test - 100-150 points.  At the end of the semester it is possible we may have a semester test.  It will concentrate on the information covered that semester.

Grading System
  1. Students are graded on A-F will be evaluated on a percentage basis, comparing the points earned by the student to the total possible points for that grading period. (9 weeks)
  2. Semester grades are the result of averaging the two percentage grades for each quarter.
  3. A grade for class behavior and participation is also given.   This can be equivalent to one test grade depending on the total number of points for that grading period.

Grading Scale

    A+ = 98-100    A = 96-97     A- = 92-94

    B+ = 89-91      B = 86-88     B- = 83-85

    C+ = 80-82     C = 77-79       C- = 74-76

    D+ = 71-73     D = 68-70       D- = 65-67

    F = below 65%

*****Extra credit Assignments are not given in this class.   Make sure you complete the work as we go!
