Math

 
1st Quarter Math Goals:
  • Read, write, and explain numbers to 999,999
  • Round numbers to nearest 10's and 100's
  • Show which of two numbers is greater, less, or equal by using appropriate symbols
  • Choose the computational skill needed to solve a 1-step word problem
  • Add 3-digit numbers with regrouping
  • Estimate when adding 2 numbers less than 1,000 including money
  • Count any given collection of coins and bills and make an amount using fewest coins


2nd Quarter Math Goals:

  • Subtract a 3-digit number from a 3-digit number with regrouping
  • Regroup across zero in subtraction problems
  • Estimate when subtracting 2 numbers less than 1,000 including money
  • Use decimals and dollar signs when adding/subtracting money
  • Recall addition and subtraction facts to sums of 18
  • Write the time to minute intervals and use quarter hours
  • Interpret and solve problems involving bar, circle, and picture graphs


3rd Quarter Math Goals:

  • Recall multiplication facts through 9X5
  • Divide with divisors 1 to 5
  • Identify fact families and find missing factors
  • Identify, describe, and extend arithmetic patterns, using concrete materials and tables
  • Apply the following measurements when working with length, weight, and volume:  centimeters, meter, milliliter, liter, grams
     

4th Quarter Math Goals:

  • Calculate perimeter of 2-dimensional shapes and solve word problems involving perimeter
  • Recognize and identify 3-dimensional shapes:  cube, pyramid, sphere, cylinder, cone, and rectangular prism
  • Apply the following measurement when working with length, weight, and volume:  inch, feet, yard, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, ounces, pounds
  • Read, write, and illustrate fractional parts of a whole and a set
  • Identify congruent, similar, or symmetrical figures
  • Identify, describe, and classify lines, line segments, rays, and angles
