Favorite thing about teaching: Getting to know the next generation!  My favorite activities are reading aloud to my students and listening to what they say.

Family:  Father and Mother who live in Pawnee City, Nebraska;

two brothers - one who lives near Pawnee City with his wife and younger son,

 one who lives in Madison, South Dakota with his wife and three children;

one nephew at Nebraska Wesleyan, and

one niece who has graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan, is married and working in Lincoln. 

My mother, father, two brothers, two sisters-in-law, and new "nephew-in-law" all are, or have been, teachers.  I also have a large interesting cat named Mohican. 
 

Hobbies/Interest Areas: My hobbies include reading books and newspapers, walking, traveling, golfing, and working at the Hickman Area Reading and Historical Centre.  I belong to J.C.'s Coffeehouse Book Club.  We meet once a month to dine together and discuss a book we've all read.

I am interested in community service, have served on the Hickman Planning Commission, and am now the chairman of the Hickman Area Library Advisory Board. 

I am also interested in service to my church and am presently serving as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Hickman, as a Trustee, and on the Worship Committee.  I am also a liaison between the board of Elders and one of our church members who is in seminary. 

 I am interested in the subjects of law, psychology , and theology, and learn more about those subjects when possible.
