Second Quarter Objectives

1.  The learner will be able to subtract a 3-digit number from a 3-digit number with regrouping. (Example: 764 - 589 = 175 )

2.  The learner will be able to regroup across zero in 3-digit number subtraction problems. ( Example: 500 - 126 = 374 )

3.  The learner will be able to estimate when subtracting 2 numbers less than 1,000. (Example: 854 - 347 =  The students will round the numbers and then subtract the rounded numbers.    900 - 300 = 600)

4.  The learner will use decimals and dollar signs when adding/subtracting money. (Example:  $7.19 + $ 3.54 = $ 10.73)

5.  The learner will recall addition and subtraction facts with sums up to 18.  (Example: 5 + 6= 11)

6.  The learner well write the time to minute intervals and use quarter hours. (Example: 2:15 is quarter past 2,  2:45 is quarter to 3, 2:30 is half past 2)

7. The learner will interpret and solve problems involving bar, circle and picture graphs.
