In 1919, Fort Robinson became a Quartermaster Remount Depot. It
became the world's largest center for the training, care, and breeding of Army horses and
mules. This stable is a standard military design. |
 |
With thousands of horses and mules, this harness shop was in constant use
for repair of saddles, harnesses, and riggings. |
 |
A well equipped veterinary hospital was also at the fort. In the
operating room, we saw a display of dental tools used on the horses. |
