Home Town: I was raised on a farm at Eddyville, NE and graduated from Sumner-Eddyville-Miller District 101R. This is near
Kearney.
Year you entered the teaching profession: I began my career teaching
Kindergarten at
Creighton in 1976. I re-entered the profession after being home with
children in 1989 at Norfolk, NE
I taught 13 years in first and second grade. I was a literacy consultant
for 3 years for the Norfolk Public Schools District. While living in
Norfolk I taught
graduate classes for Doane and Wayne State and I taught an undergraduate
distance learning class for Northeast Community college.
Degrees Held & Institution Received From:
I have a Bachelor of Science from UNL with a dual degree of Elementary Education
and Human Development with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. I
have a master degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College
Favorite thing about teaching: I love
watching children learn and become independent learners. When a child
discovers they have the ability to learn it is the greatest feeling in the
world.
Family: Husband: Don
Children: We have three grown children. Two daughters,
one son, one son-in-
law, and two grandchildren.
Hobbies/Interest Areas: I love to read,
travel, garden, and work with people.
