Home Town: currently is Hickman, Nebraska.  I am not really from anywhere in particular.  My dad was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force so we moved frequently.  I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, but have also lived in Florida, Arizona, North Dakota, twice in England, and now Hickman.
This map shows all of the places I have lived.

Year you entered the teaching profession:
I graduated from UNL in December 1998 but then stayed home with my children for seven years before coming to Norris in 2005
Degrees Held & Institution Received From:
BS in English with my endorsement in Secondary Education from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  I am currently working toward my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Doane College.
Favorite thing about teaching:
Watching students' enthusiasm for literature or writing.  I also love to build positive relationships with students.
Extra Duty Assignments:
I am the sophomore class sponsor, and oversee the 9th grade English Summer Accelerated Program.  I am also the secretary for the Norris Association of Educators.
Family:
My husband Thomas is from Nebraska City so we have a friendly rivalry since they are in the same conference.  I also have two kids, my son Ian is 13, an eighth grader and my daughter Elena is 11 and in sixth grade.
Hobbies/Interest Areas:
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I love to travel!  In my free time I also enjoy running, biking, walking, playing golf, and reading.
I also like to bake for family and friends.

A couple of photos from our trip up to Yellowstone National Park and Mt. Rushmore in S.D. in May 2008.  It was the coldest Memorial Day I ever remember experiencing, it was snowy and rainy the whole trip.  These were taken on the observation deck at Mt. Rushmore.
