
CO2 racing
is an event at our state skills competition. Members design and build the car that
they believe will win. Everyone has different styles of cars. However we are
only allowed one car at the state competition. To eliminate the rest of the cars we
have a race. The racing is bracket formatted and the grand champion gets to race
their car at the state competition. Each car is powered by a carbon dioxide(CO2)
cartridge. When a button is pushed a lever drops puncturing the cartridges in the
two cars creating airflow and pushing the cars forward at a speed of at least 100 mph.
