SkillsUSA Banquet '06

On Tuesday, May 2^nd , 2006, the Norris SkillsUSA Banquet was held. There were 105 people present. The Skills Officers for the 2005-2006 year were Sarah Jenkins as President, Aleece Schoenbeck as Vice President, Ashly Lannin as Secretary, Evan Egger as Treasurer, Kendra Brunkow as Reporter, Spencer Hall as Parliamentarian, Jared McNamee  as Historian, Shawn McNamee as Activities Director, and Jack Jenkins and Barry Pedley are the Advisors.

Morgan Huttes from Norris was recognized for being elected as a state officer for the 2006-2007 school year. The following people were acknowledged for their first place finishes at the state contest: Sarah Jenkins, Ashly Lannin, and Aleece Schoenbeck, Josh DeVries, Kendra Brunkow, Brian Glenn, Morgan Huttes, Alex Baruth, Evan Egger, and Shane Lowe.

They will be representing Nebraska at the National Skills USA Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 20 - 25. At the state contest the Norris Chapter received the Outstanding Chapter Award. 

Recognition for being in the Norris 100 Point Club went to: Kendra Brunkow, Evan Egger, Jake Hartwig, Sarah Jenkins, Ashly Lannin, Aleece Schoenbeck, Morgan Huttes, and Spencer Hall.

The Outstanding Senior Award went to Ashly Lannin and the Outstanding Underclassmen Award went to Andy Wallman. Outstanding Service Awards went to Pat Schoenbeck, Tony Glenn, and Ed Benesh.  The Norris SkillsUSA Chapter gave Scholarship Awards to Sarah Jenkins - $600, Aleece Schoenbeck - $600, Kendra Brunkow - $400, Ashly Lannin - $500, Matt Noble - $300, Jon Topp - $100, Ben Weber - $400, and Spencer Hall - $500. The Norris SkillsUSA organization recognized the following individuals and businesses for their donations to the Scholarship and Leadership fund: Cheever Construction, Exmark Manufacturing, Fred Gustin, Hall Pine Acres, Hampton Enterprises, Inc., HEP Inc., Holly Wallman, Holthus Construction, Jim Becker, Ralph Harper, Tony and Deb Glenn, Voice News, Weber and Sons Refuse, First State Bank Hickman, SkillsUSA Parent/Booster Club.

The banquet ended with the Installation of the 2006-2007 Officers. They are Morgan Huttes, President; Evan Egger, Vice President; Erin Schoenbeck, Secretary; Shane Lowe, Treasurer; Brian Glenn, Reporter; Dallas Shoemaker, Parliamentarian; and Josh DeVries, Historian.

                The Parents Booster Club presented two scholarships valued at $250 to Sarah Jenkins and Aleece Schoenbeck.
