Washington DC/New York City Trip, June 2009 I am currently enrolling students on a five-day trip to Washington, DC and New York City. During this five-day trip, we will visit some of our nation's most famous landmarks, such as the Smithsonian Museums, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and more. We will also see Arlington National Cemetery, George Washington's home at Mount Vernon, and Ford's Theater and the Peterson House across the street, where Abraham Lincoln spent his final hours. There will be other possibilities, too, depending on the weather, time, and traffic. We will see (and maybe enter) the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, the National Archives, and more! This will be my fifth trip, and each one is a little different! We will then board our coach (not "bus" -- I've learned these drivers drive a coach, not a "bus!") and it's on to New York City. There we will see the Empire State Building (and go to the top), a Broadway show, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and more! The cost of the trip is $1273 until May 31. (There is a $50 price increase June 1.) Adults are welcome to go, too, at a slightly higher cost. This fee covers all tour components; round trip airfare, hotel accommodations, daily breakfast and dinner, entrance fees to attractions and evening events, medical insurance and hotel night security. There is a $150 down payment to enroll; information will then be sent to you about paying the rest of the fee. For more information about the tour see: www.smithsonianstudenttravel.com The tour number is 472467. You can also call me for more information: 423-1880 (Home) or 402-432-6377 (cell)
