There are several resources that you may need in order to view all of the files on staff web sites that use PowerPoint, Interactive web pages with spreadsheets, etc... Many of the spreadsheets are published using The Microsoft Office Web Components. This allows them to be interactive with the user. The bad news is that you need to have Microsoft Office installed on your computer with the The Microsoft Office Web Components installed. If you do not own a Office License you can still install the tools, but they will not be interactive. (you can install these component of Office from your Office disk, or you can download them for the Internet. If you do not own Microsoft office, you can still view the PowerPoint's and files by downloading these viewers:
PowerPoint Viewer 2003 Word Viewer 2003 lets you open Word 2003 documents and documents that are created in all earlier versions of Microsoft Office Word for Windows and Microsoft Office Word for Macintosh. By using the viewer, you can view, print, and copy document contents to
another program. However, you cannot make a change to a document that is open,
save a document, or create a new document. If you do not own office you may want to check out Open Office. Open Office
is a complete Office Suite that can open Word, Excel and PowerPoints. This
suite is a free office program that offers many nice features for the price.
