American Mathematics Competitions - 8 (formerly the American Junior High School Mathematics Exam) The AMC - 8 is a special 25 question, multiple choice, 40 minute test given nationwide to participants in the 7th and 8th grade. It covers a variety of topics and is not for your average student! Norris usually allows all PreAlgebra students (7th grade) and Algebra students (8th grade) to take this test to sharpen their problem solving skills. There is a cost to the school involved in buying these tests so it is not given to every student. Our top scores for 2007 were: Eighth Grade Seventh Grade Derek
