SUGGESTED LIST OF MATERIALS FOR NORRIS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS 2011-2012
(This is a suggested list for supplies that students will need throughout the entire year. The quantities are not all required at the start of the school year.)

5th Grade:

	1-6 pocket plastic folder with clasp or students may use their “briefcase” from 4th grade (no Trapper Keeper);
	1-spiral notebook (70 pages)
	1-SPIRAL five-subject notebook
	2 packages 3-ring loose-leaf notebook paper (used daily)
	6- glue sticks (white only-no liquid glue)
	12- #2 pencils with erasers
	12-red pens (ballpoint); 12- black or blue ballpoint pens; colored pencils or crayons
	1-pencil box or plastic pencil bag
	1 school scissors
	1-12” ruler with metric measurements and standard measures (NON-FLEXIBLE)
	1 box of tissues
	1 calculator
	1 yellow highlighter
	3 textbook size stretchy book covers

6th Grade:

	five 1” three ring notebooks (no Trapper Keeper)
	5- packages of 5 or 8 notebook dividers
	oose-leaf paper
	1 Composition Notebook (200 pages) for English
	1 – 2 pocket folder for music
	red pens
	black, and/or blue pens
	#2 lead pencils or mechanical pencils with extra lead
	erasers
	colored pencils
	scissors
	one box of tissues
	calculator (e.g., Texas Instruments T1 34 II Explore Plus..suggested type, not required)
	Jump Drive (optional)
	Large stretchy book covers (optional)
	Label all clothing and personal items with Permanent Marker. NO whiteout

7th Grade:

	five 1.5” three ring notebooks (no Trapper Keeper)
	5 packages of notebook dividers
	package of blue or black and red ballpoint pens
	packages of #2 lead pencils or mechanical pencils with extra lead

	box of colored markers

Physical Education: All students need tennis shoes with laces tied, or Velcro closures, and athletic socks. Grades 6 – 8 need a pair of loose fitting shorts and a t-shirts (not sleeveless) to keep in their PE locker and change into prior to PE class.
