1) Do not be scared to use the help menu! Ask a question.
2) Keep the same look and feel throughout your presentation by using a design template or edit your master slide. -Apply a design by going to format, slide design. To keep the task pane on the right open, select view and make sure the task pane is checked. -Edit the master slide to apply a theme, logo, etc… to all slides in your slide show. Select View, master, and slide master. Any changes applied to this slide will show on all slides.
3) Tool bar menus show last used icons, you can make them all show if you like. You can make this selection from the icon bar itself or go to Tools, customize options and select the option to show standard and formatting toolbars on two rows. To get rid of the shrinking customized menus.. go to Tools, customize options and select the option to always show full menus.
4) Use speed keys: Ctrl-m to add new slides and F5 to view your slide show.
5) Use the slide sorter view to move slides around in your presentation. Click and hold on the slide to drag it to the new location in your slide show.
6) Like most Windows programs… Use Ctrl Z to undo a change, Ctrl X to cut, Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl P to paste.
7) The icons in the bottom left corner allow you to easily change views or view your PowerPoint.
8) To adjust your toolbars go to the View, view tool bars. You can move and adjust those toolbar locations by dragging the small vertical bar located to the left of those toolbars.
9) Simple photo adjustments can be made after bringing in a picture to PowerPoint. Click on the picture and make the adjustments from the picture toolbar. (Crop, adjust contrast, etc…)
10) Use the scroll button on your mouse to quickly scroll between slides on your PowerPoint show. |
