How to record narration for a PowerPoint Slide Show

In PowerPoint, go to the tools menu and select options. With the options box open (As shown in the figure below) on the general tab, set the link sounds with file size greater to be 50,000. This setting will assure that the narration will be recorded within the PowerPoint file.

Next, go to the slide show menu and select the record narration option. At this point, you can then test the microphone and the quality. (I would recommend an 8 bit mono sound to keep the file size smaller.)

You will then want to record the narration and slide timings for your show.

Note: If you are saving this to a web site, the sound will be on the site… but you may want test it a little bit to get your timing down since the sound file is cut up to match each slide.
