Pastor Tom Kicks Off The Norris Middle School Sock Drive

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Pastor Tom with Lincoln City Mission ventured out to Norris on Monday, January 29, 2018, to kickoff the 2nd Annual Sock Drive at Norris Middle School. Tom was joined by Michelle Orth and Nikki Oswald from the City Mission, along with area realtor Amy Keetle and Lincoln area realtor Susie Luxford.

The Lincoln City Mission held their first sock drive almost 6 years ago and they collected 1,000 pairs of socks. Last year, The Mission collected over 8,000 pairs of socks. Of the 8,000 pairs collected, Norris Middle School was responsible for just over 1,700 pairs. Our goal as a Middle School last year was 1,200 pairs of socks (about 400 per grade level). Having collected over 1,700 last year, we have set a school goal of collecting 1,800 (600 per grade level). PLEASE join us in donating new and/or gently used socks!

You may donate the entire month of February. You may send your donations to Norris Middle School or you may drop your donations at First State Realty or The Voice News, both located in Hickman.

New socks, old socks, red socks, blue socks...we will take them all. Any size and Any style! Pairs are preferred and singles are welcome. Please donate new and/or gently used socks!

WHY SOCKS? Socks are consistently one of the most needed items at the Lincoln City Mission. The mission gave out all 8,000 socks that were donated last year in just 3 short months. So often People come to the shelter with nothing but the clothes on their back and socks are more than just a fashion statement but an important part of staying healthy.

Norris Middle School is excited to join with Lincoln City Mission and REALTORS Association of Lincoln to help “Sock it to the Homeless”!
