Our very own, Ms. Kelly Baehr was awarded The 10/11 News Golden Apple Award for the month of December. The Golden Apple Award is sponsored by 10/11 News and they have teamed up with Doane University - College of Education to honor an outstanding educator on the last Wednesday of each month. Recipient’s of the award are nominated by a student or a parent who thinks that they are pretty awesome! Our staff at Norris would agree as well, Ms. Baehr is pretty Awesome!

Ms. Baehr is a 6th-grade reading teacher who has been with the district for 19 Years! However, Ms. Baehr’s roots run deep in the Norris Community as she is also a fellow graduate of Norris. Mrs. Baehr is a proud 1986 graduate of Norris High School and says she feels fortunate that she has gotten to return home and teach in the same school district that she grew up in.


Ms. Baehr is known by her students for her love of reading, her attention to their interests, and her ability to make all kids feel important. Ms. Baher has motivated and inspired numerous students over the years, and the impact that she has made will stick with students, staff, and parents for years to come. Thank you, Ms. Baehr, for all that you do for our students here at Norris!
