Thursday, March 23, 2017

The totals are in!  The middle school's Penny War and Hickman Subway fundraiser tallied $1384.04 in donations for Nebraska's Vietnam Veterans Honor Flight.  The flight is scheduled for May 1, 2017, transporting 650 veterans to Washington, D.C.  The final honor flight from Nebraska will depart at 4:00 a.m. from Eppley Airfield in Omaha, arrive at 8:30 a..m. in Washington D.C  to visit the war memorials, Arlington Cemetery, and Tombs of the Unknown. The flight is scheduled to return to Lincoln's Airport at 8:30 p.m.  The public is invited to cheer and welcome home our Vietnam Veterans.

NMS will be conducting a "Penny War" to help raise funds for the May 1, 2017 Vietnan Veternan's Honor Flight.  Patriotic Productions of Nebraska sponsors these flights, making it possible to send Veterans from all Foreign Wars to Washington D.C.  The flights give honor to those that served and the opportunity to visit our nation's war memorials.  The cost to send one veteran on this flight is $900, our "Penny War's" goal.  Students are asked to bring their coins to help support this cause by April 7th.  If you'd like to contribute, please send your donations to the middle school office or contact Josh Murtaugh at josh.murtaugh@nsdtitans.org.
