President Gayle French called the meeting to order and the minutes were approved as read.  Eight members and Mr. Lee were present.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Janis Dymacek, treasurer reported a balance of $784.04 in the checking account and $2869.50 in the savings account.  It was moved and seconded that the report be accepted.  Gayle said there was a request to pay for the rental of the keyboard used in the fall musical.  Joyce moved and Gail Schmidt seconded that this be paid for with Music Boosters funds and it passed.

STAFF REPORT:  Evan said he would have the options for the bus renovation soon.  Next Friday at the game the band will perform the entire program.  We might be upgrading the percussion line by buying one-year-old Pearl instruments.  Our current drums would then be sold.  October 25th is the final home game and that is senior night.  NSBA is scheduled at Seacrest at 9:15pm.

Annette sent word via Gayle that the audition for All-State is at Doane on October 12th.  Nineteen choral students and six instrumentalists will attend.  The vocal concert is October 14th.  The Peru Show Choir Festival is October 30th.  Music Boosters agreed to pay for Pizza Hut meals for the choir.  Five teachers are giving voice and piano lessons serving 60 students.  Mr. Lee has not found band mentors.

OLD BUSINESS:  All but ten calendars are sold and we did make a profit.  We have a number of bus sponsors for the marching contests, but we can always use more.  Gail Schmidt and Sherry Wright did the backpacks and Gayle thanked them.  Robin got Pepsi to donate drinks for the Clarinda trip and band members need to bring a sack lunch.  The bake sale is October 21st and we need callers and sales help.  Boosters can donate $5 or a food item and the hours are from 5 to 9pm.  The teacher food will be Blimpie sandwiches on October 21st and Sloppy Joes on the 28th.  Some picture buttons still need to be taken and they should be ready by the first competition.  We are doing District Music contest for Class A and AA.  Class B is at Concordia.  We need lots of volunteers on Friday, April 25th.

NEW BUSINESS:  The band will practice at the school before the NSBA contest and then have pizza at 5:30pm paid for by the Music Boosters.  We plan to buy a $35 ad in the program.  The band banquet will be November 1st and the location is not decided but it possibly will be at the elementary school.  The meal will be chicken and it will be $8.00 a plate.

The meeting was adjourned.
