President Gayle French called the meeting to order with 12 members present and band director Evan Lee. Janis Dymacek gave the treasurer's report. Our ending balance is $822.94 in checking and $3322.42 in savings.
Gayle reported calendar sales have slowed and we will now only offer them in the school office. We have made a good profit from them and we will thank Sprint Printing for their generous discount. It was suggested calendars be sold at the bake sale.
We have a list of people willing to donate to the bake sale and Janis Dymacek and Sherry Wright will call them the weekend before to remind them. $5 can be given in lieu of baked items. Janis will get a cash box to use.
Teachers will be able to purchase a Blimpie sandwich, chips, brownie, and tea, lemonade, or coffee for $5. The cost is $2.50 so the rest if profit.
Most picture buttons are done and the rest will be taken on Friday. Payment must be made before delivery.
Evan reported the band is ready for Friday and Saturday's performances and he gave the itinerary. The John Lennon bus has been rescheduled for March or April.
The backpacks need to be restocked and Carol Brettmann, Gail Schmidt, and Sherry Wright volunteered to do that.
Our fundraiser will be Village Inn pie sales. the pies will sell for $10 each and they come in books of 10 pies. the money earned can be used for future trips or other band camps of fees. Sales will be from November 5 through January 7. Band members need to fill out an account sheet to get credit for their sales. We will order 500 certificates.
Gayle will arrange a pizza party for the NSBA contest day.
The Show Choir festival is October 24. Music Boosters buys their supper on the way back.
We will do an ad in the NSBA program.
If anyone wants to order t-shirts, they are on-line at Screenink.com. We discussed other possible t-shirt providers.
Our next meeting is October 15 at 7:00pm.
