Grammar slammer
is a great English resource.
As a communications teacher sometimes it is tricky to
find tangible sites that tie directly to curriculum. If you ever have
another Drama teacher direct them to this site! Unbelievable for accents and
dialect of English.

is an excellent site for spelling bee preparation. Also includes a great
"Teach Me" function that spells out the word using visual and auditory input
to improve retention.

Diigo, allows you to
annotate, archive, bookmarks, and organize web sites. Has a toolbar
for assisting with this too.
Mixbook's education
program allows for creating online books for free. (Recommended by other
educators. Similar sites like Shutterfly will do the same thing too.)
Plagium - paste in text and check for
plagiarism
Readability- This
fantastic tool allows you to capture ONLY the text from a website, getting
rid of the clutter! (Works on pages with articles, does
not work well on some home pages.) Also
PDFmyURL.com is a nice tool for turning a web site into a pdf file.
Put both of these on your favorite bar for some great tools.

~ online media album, sometimes called a “group audio blog.” Can contain a
variety of media, such as images, documents, videos or a presentation.
Viewers can comment in different ways - voice, text, MP3 file, or webcam
video. VoiceThread videos can be exported to a movie for offline use on a

Little Bird Tales is
a nice site intended for younger students to use to create digital stories.
Little Bird Tales walks users through each step of creating a multimedia
story. Users can upload images, draw images, or record from their webcams.
Stories can be written with text or narrated by students using microphones
connected to their computers. Watch the video below to learn more about Little

enjoyment-kids listening to other kids read (they have really cute
accents too). Or, you can have kids create their own smories to share
with parents and families, on your website, or with students next year.
