Norris School District

This is a list of Noel's top web sites for teachers.  It' really difficult to keep this to a short list, but only the top picks make this list.  All of these links can be found on our other education Links web pages on this site.

Favorite Sites:

1)  Google Apps for Education.  If your school is not using the Google Apps suite and all of it's tools, you are missing out!

2)  Toss the PowerPoints and look at Prezi - non-linear, zooming presentations

3)  Animoto  Is a great site for creating videos from pictures!

4)  Word Cloud sites: Wordle.net is a nice site for making posters from a text that pulls the main themes and concepts from that text.  OR  ImageChef:http://www.imagechef.com at this site, students and teachers can create a number if imagery examples with and without words.  Awesome.  (Try the Word Mosaic) OR http://www.tagxedo.com/ makes some great word clouds. 45+ ways to use Wordle in classroom- a great Google Doc presentation.  (I am cheating on this one and counting this as one link!)

5)  Awesome web based site for multimedia editing tools. http://aviary.com/  Includes a tool similar to audacity, for editing audio files, but does it online through a web browser. This one can even be added into your Google Apps for education for free too!

6)  Personal Educational Press: This web site lets you turn your computer and printer into a printing press for free educational materials such as Flashcards, BINGO boards, Word Scramble and Tracing Sheets. Also try: www.aplusmath.com  some great resources for math including printing worksheets for free! (This is an Oldie, but a goodie.)

7)  Glogster - Educational resource for creating poster type pages

8)  Awesome site for free teacher recourses. Make sure you check this one out. Great free resources for teachers.

9)  If you do Power Points then you need Pete's PowerPoint Station --One of the best for Great PowerPoint's already made for you! (This is an Oldie, but a goodie.)

10)  Edit video on line through your web browser, at www.jaycut.com
