Writing Guidelines

Writing is something we work on throughout the school year.  The emphasis is placed on writing as a process and the importance of learning the correct format for various modes of writing.

We also focus on students grasping the idea that writing is a process not an assignment.  Most students come to high school with the understanding that writing their first draft constitutes a finished piece.  Utilizing the six traits of writing we focus on the importance of revising and editing to improve their ability to communicate.
