As we all know, we are being persuaded by the media and others around us every day.  While all these persuasive messages may not be as serious in nature as the topics you will address in your essay, they employ many of the same persuasive tactics that you will use.  Focusing on a current, multi-sided, social issue- persuade your reader of your opinion by utilizing Aristotle’s persuasive appeals (ethos, logos, and pathos).  Remember that a strong argument will dispel any opposition to your position.  Think carefully, critically, and creatively to create an effective persuasive essay.
