Money:

money to school with your child, always put it in a
sealed envelope or zip-lock bag, label it with your
child's name and what the money is for.
Birthdays:
You are welcome
to bring commercially prepackaged treats with
ingredients attached for your child's birthday on or
near their special day. We celebrate summer birthdays
on each child's half birthday. Contact me to let me
know a few days in advance if you plan to send something
in. See our classroom birthday list by clicking
here.

If your
child ever needs to take medicine, you are required
to bring the medicine in it's original container
with the child's name, the prescribed dosage and the
method of administration clearly indicated to school and
give it to the school nurse.
Lunch:
You will be notified about food
costs at the beginning of the school year. We utilize
a computerized lunch account program where you can put
money into your family lunch account periodically. You
are encouraged to put money into this account during
Open House. If your child brings a lunch from home,
please be sure they are able to open all containers by
themselves. No pop is allowed in a bottle, can or
thermos.
Snack:
In addition to lunch, the children
have milk and a snack every afternoon.
Our school cafeteria provides the
snack. The parents need to pay 1/2 of the snack fee for
the first semester and the remainder of the snack fee
for the second semester.
Show-and-Tell:
Sharing
is an
opportunity
for your child to bring items we are learning about in
school.
Items “discovered” in nature or other "themed" items are
encouraged to provide an opportunity for public speaking
and learning. Look for my "newsletter" each week for
ideas of sharing opportunities.
The sharing of toys is not encouraged.

Super Kid:
Each and
every one of your children are
S-U-P-E-R! To
foster an opportunity to let your child shine, each week
a new student will be invited to be our "Super Kid of
the Week." During your child’s week a special
backpack, letter, and journal will travel home with him
or her. Please refer to the
weekly newsletter as to the date your child will be recognized.
