Each month, Norris Elementary students are given the opportunity to complete a nomination form to honor a community member who has demonstrated the character trait of the month. Students are given four guidelines to follow when nominating community members:
1. Candidate must live in the Norris School
District
2. Candidate must be 20
years or older
3. Candidate should not be
employed by the Norris School District
4. Candidate should not be
a relative of the student nominating them
Students complete a nomination form, where they write why they believe the community member is a good role model and specific examples the person exhibits the character word of the month.
From these nominations, a random
drawing was held to select a community member to represent the
character word of the month. Since time does not allow every
person nominated to be recognized at an assembly, all community
members nominated for demonstrating good character are sent a
letter of recognition, along with the nomination form which was
completed by their Norris Elementary friend.
These community members were honored for demonstrating the Character Word of the Month.
