Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship is the ability to treat your opponent with respect, displaying modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.
Parents may demonstrate good sportsmanship by:
Treating opponents and their fans the way you would like to be treated.
Accepting the judgment calls of the officials.
Supporting fair play by following the rules of the game.
Supporting the coach both on and off the field. If a concern does exist, the parent should speak to the coach at a later time, privately.
Encouraging your child and other team members.
Avoiding criticism.
Accepting when mistakes are made, without pouting or making excuses. Learn from mistakes and do better next time.
