Homework

Students will have a math assignment almost every day.  Lessons will progress in numerical order and we will have a test after every 5 lessons.

Depending on how much time students spend working on their assignment at school, they may have homework every night.  If students use their time wisely in math class and in study hall, hopefully they won't have too much to finish at home.

FYI - During the first few weeks of school 4th graders have bus buddies.  They help the kindergarteners find their bus and talk about school and what everyone's learning.  We do this during study hall, so 4th graders don't get as much time to do homework those first few weeks.

Tips to Help Your Child

We recommend students find the problems that they think are the hardest and do those while at school.  That way, we are here to answer any questions they may have or work through those problems together.

Each problem has a (#) under it. If a student has trouble with a problem, they can refer to that lesson # for a review of the concept and example problems.

If students forget their textbook at school they can use the ebook on this website instead.  Find the ebook link under math.  Click on the appropriate section, and the ebook should open in another window.

If students ever have questions or problems that can not be resolved at home, they need to come and see us in the morning before 8:30. Hopefully, we'll be able to get things worked out before school starts.

Thanks for all of your support and encouragement with your child and math.  I can't wait to see all the progress and growth they experience this year!  Keep working hard!
