Text Box: News from First Grade Room 105 32nd Week of School                 April 5, 2007-April 12, 2007  

Text Box:   Thursday - We had so much fun today!!!! We dyed eggs, hid eggs, and frosted cookies.    Friday– NO SCHOOL!  We had the day off.  Hope you had fun with friends and family.   Monday-SPRING BREAK!  No school.  Hope you had a fun, long break.   Tuesday—We continued with our butterfly story and theme.  Our larvae arrived and now we are    watching, observing, and journaling how fast they grow and change.  We should have beautiful    butterflies in 21 days. Wednesday-We have been making tissue paper butterflies to look like stained glass.  They are Turning our so beautiful.  Today we finished them and the live caterpillars are getting much bigger.                                    Tuesday — This week in reading we are practicing words with “long i” and spelling patterns                    like “ide”  and “ike”.                      We are really getting good at reading and spelling contractions.  Wednesday— Today is the 99th day of school.  We can’t wait until tomorrow for the                        100th Day of School!  We hope to celebrate 100 days in 100 ways!                       !                                               .                                     We learned that VERBS are words that show ACTION!                                Person, Place, Thing or Animal.  We made a NOUN TOWN!                        There are people, places, things and animals in our NOUN TOWN!
