Welcome to the 107 Accelerated Reader (AR) page!  Read below to find out how you can make reading fun in 5th grade.

1. Each student will set his own goal for the amount of personal reading books required for each quarter and share any progress with his parents on a weekly basis.  (Signatures are required!)  Grades will be taken from the progress that your child makes on his own set goal.

2. Students will shade in one of the pictures on their Bookkeeper card each time they have read 15 minutes.  Parents will need to sign the card when it has been completed.

3.  Students will earn a Book Mark punch to place on their personal bookmark when a completed Bookkeeper card is returned to Mrs. Spilker.

4.  We will chart books in class when each student has completed a book.  Students that meet their own personal goals will be rewarded in class.
 

If the book is an AR book, you must take the AR Quiz.

If the book is not an AR book, you must complete a book summary form.
The passing grade for a quiz is 70%.

In addition, each quarter you will need to complete a book project to share with the class.  Book projects will be announced in class.
