Math Contest Practices
is a national program that promotes middle school mathematics. A competition is held
regionally at UNL in February. Eight students may compete from each
school. Four students form a team, and four other students are invited to
compete as individuals. Students are selected based on in-school contest
results, as well as attendance and participation in weekly practice sessions.
Practices are challenging and fun! Students gain experience with advanced concepts and non-routine problem solving, and participation will help prepare students for other math contests that are offered at Norris as well. Click on MATHCOUNTS above to go to the website.
